low maintenance formal lawned garden

This garden had been neglected for several years, and had previously been used as an outdoor area for several large dogs.

The brief was to turn the space back into an open, green, low maintenance space, in which the owners could sit and enjoy the sunshine.

The project was undertaken with a very limited budget, so was cleared and prepared by hand.

The lawn was created entirely from scratch by sowing lawn seed.

Spring bulbs were added to the new borders, along with scented roses and herbaceous perennials which would span the seasons.

A very selective palette comprising of white and yellow was requested, requiring extra planning to the planting scheme.
